Using Up 4 Starters
3, 2, 1 Go: Ask the students what they already know and what they want to know.
What's the question?: Here are the answers, but what are the questions?
Words: Search for key words. Open ended questions, quotes and statements all designed to provoke thought and discussion.
Pictures: Image reading, comparisons, connect the pictures and odd one out.
Video: Iconic sports performances and film clips from You Tube that will capture the imagination of the students.
All the tasks are provided in PowerPoint format and can be adapted. Blank templates are included for you to design your own activities if you choose to do so.
